Edited by: Tas Devil on 20/10/2006 13:10:47 As per this Blog the following has been annouced by CCP on October 19th.
"...we have a 40 day plan at the end of which we will have 73% more hamsters powering Tranquility and Kali deployed."
That's the 14th December assuming they mean 40 work days. Or 10 days before Xmas...
Lets wish them all luck and a Murphy-free deployment. Fingers crossed right now and till December 14th that this years Xmas holidays are not mared by horrible server performance after such a big deployment.
Good Luck CCP ! We lurv you and we lurv to hate you too Tas

One of the devs posted november in a thread I read. Please dont ask me to find it.... :)
Lets hope its not November and they take plenty of time to get it right... Tas

Originally by: Paddlefoot Aeon Kali will be on SiSi after this weekend's stress and tranquility hotfix test... according to the news item, they are aiming for Sunday or Monday. If all goes well and they have enough people testing, enough people fixing bugs, and few enough bugs (and not major ones), Kali could drop the first or second week of November.
The only thing that may hold Kali up is the hardware deployment on November 1st. If Mr Murphy pays a call, the devs may push Kali back a week to make sure the new yaarrrdware has been properly integrated.
On another note.... I'm finishing Mining Barge 5 today... and have exhumers all ready to train.... Finishing a 23 day training sure feels good..... time to go for cruiser 5...
Get real Monday starts testing ... that's the 23rd October... I sincerely hope the testing doesn't last just 2 weeks...
You won't see Kali in November...and that's good...Cause IF we see it in December I'm hoping it will have been tested and tested and tested again... Tas

Originally by: Harisdrop Noobs. Testing starts next week. Code changes are locked last week. If you think programmers are going to let the code sit there after dec 1 your a real noob.
They are trying to get a new wikiTrace going that allows for a free promotion product that keeps everything changed in the code in a database. I know why they are doing this cause they dont have internal development tools they are happy with. Probally the current tool is email..... This demostrates that they want to get onto the new production level to start fresh with the next "Factional Warfare" kali 2 coding for the Trace.
The devs believe the content is not the dramatic changes the players sense. They know its important and will be used. They dont see anything in it as show stoppers. If something is not working they will turn off that switch and shelve it until later. They are going to let anything that is tested heavly into TQ since they will think thats what the players want.
They will allow testing be 2 weeks. Players need to get to SIS and test what they want into TQ or it might not go. Been there done that. Soo if you want your feature of kali in test it and bug report.
Your eloquence is astounding... Calling people noobs to get your point accross is reminiscent of 5th grade (you know before pimples on your face) ... since you try to portrait yourself as a known-it-all wannabe developper and programmer ... how about adopting an adult attitude ? Tas

Without falling into sarcasm...(which I am known to fall into at times ) ... this post was intended as a genuine good luck to our dearly loved hard working Devs at CCP...
They have a long few weeks ahead of them and we are all very anxious to see the outcome !
Let's not fall into the usual forum attacks from the eve fan boys and the die hard whiners...
Lets all wish them Beer-speed in this endeavour (I hear they worship beer up there more then gods...) Tas

Originally by: Dreamdancer 40 days exactly from October 19th is November 28th. A Tuesday and my birthday.
As they usually do patches on Tuesdays and as I am sure they wanna give me a b'day present they'll release it that day.
Lets not kid ourselves they don't work sats and Suns every week end... even Oveur has a life of debauchery to entertain .... Tas

Actually, I think you wil find the devs have been working very hard on Kali and the server issues, including the last few weekends and probably a lot more when they are getting closer to crunch time.
The point is a 40 day delivery plan would not account for work on sat/sun ...it would be a normal 8-9hrs a day / 5 days a week plan...so that you have flexibility in addressing contingencies... if you plan to have to work 24/7 for 40 days do deliver something ...well doesn't take a genius to know you won't make the delivery date... Originally by: Xrak Edited by: Xrak on 23/10/2006 00:06:34 Well you have taken the quote directly out of context.
By the end of the 40 days we hope to have Kali deployed, not 40 days until they deploy Kali.
They are aiming for Nov release.
Check my OP... and thank the gods of Beer they didn't say "hope to have kali deployed" as you suggest... I believe they were a little more assertive then that. As far as a Nov deploy date for Kali 1 ... I'll wait for Nov 30th to see that... I would rather wait till January 30th 2007 then have a crappy experience throughout the Xmas holiday breaks... Tas
